Heritage Jail Museum, Sangareddy

Heritage Jail Museum also known as Jail Museum and Sangareddy District Jail is located in Sangareddy, Sangareddy district of Indian state Telangana, India is a colonial-era jail, now converted into a museum. Sangareddy district jail constructed in the year 1796 A.D, during the Prime Ministership of Salar Jung I is one of the oldest jails in South India. This prison is spread across an area of 3 acres and 10 guntas. There are ten barracks in this Heritage jail building which boasts of great history. The jail allows tourists to live a prisoner’s life for 24 hours at a price of Rs.500 ($A9.90).The museum displays the paintings and other artifacts related to crime and prison life in India.It was closed in 2012.In June 2016, the jail was converted into a museum by prison department, when M. Lakshmi Narasimha, the Deputy SP of the jail came up with the Feel The Jail idea. We Can feel the jail there only by paying Rs 500 for twenty four hours without committing any crime. You will be treated like prisoners, You Have to wear prisoner’s dress , and eat a food prepared by the prisoners in nearby jail and in the utensils which are provided to prisoners . You have to clean your utensils like a prisoner and you also have to do some work provided by the jail authorities such are gardening or any other simple task. You are not allowed to use your mobile . you are items such as mobile , wallet etc are kept in locker which will be given to you when you leave the prison . If its become difficult for you remain in the prison until the full day ends you have to pay fine for it .This jail makes us realize us the real value of freedom.

IIT Hyderabad to host three-day techno-cultural fest from Jan 9

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad will host the 17th edition of its annual techno-cultural festival, Elan and nVision, from January 9. The three-day event is expected to attract nearly 30,000 students from across India. Sangareddy: The 17th edition of Elan and nVision, the annual techno-cultural festival, will start on January 9 at Indian Institute of Technology of Hyderabad (IIT-H). The three-day festivities will attract nearly 30,000 students from across the State and other parts of the country. The organisers will conduct various competitions in technical and cultural categories. The winners will be presented cash prizes worth Rs 16 lakh. Well-known Bollywood playback singer Mohith Chouhan will enthral the audience during the evenings while a host of musical events would be organised during the evenings every day. Anyone can walk into the IIT-H to watch the events. Meanwhile, the IIT-H will provide accommodation for participants travelling from distant places, subject to prior registration. Telangana Witnesses Surge In Fire Incidents During Diwali; Major Blaze Reported At Sangareddy Industry

Telangana reports 44 fire incidents amid celebrations as Delhi faces high fire calls and severe air pollution The spike in fire incidents across Telangana and Delhi, coupled with deteriorating air quality, has prompted authorities to urge residents to remain vigilant. Diwali celebrations this year saw a sharp rise in fire-related emergencies across Telangana, highlighting the safety challenges associated with the festival. The state fire department reported 44 incidents, with one of the most serious being a major blaze at Arene Life Sciences Private Limited in the Sangareddy Industrial Area. Firefighters from Sadhasivapet and Sangareddy stations responded quickly and managed to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. A senior fire official described the industrial fire as one of the most critical incidents of the day, as per a report on ANI. Fire teams across Telangana remained on high alert throughout Diwali to manage the surge in emergencies, which included residential fires and firecracker-related accidents. Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution while handling firecrackers, open flames, and other potential hazards during festive celebrations. Delhi’s Fire, Pollution Impact While Telangana handled the surge in fires, Delhi witnessed an even higher volume of emergency calls. The Delhi Fire Services responded to 269 calls during Diwali night, with the number rising to nearly 400 by 6:00 am the following morning. Firefighters were deployed across all stations to ensure rapid response to incidents ranging from firecracker mishaps to residential and commercial fires. The day after Diwali, New Delhi woke up to a thick layer of smog, with air quality plunging into the ‘Very Poor’ and ‘Severe’ categories. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 350 at 8 am. Several areas, including Bawana, Jahangirpuri, and Wazirpur, recorded AQI levels above 400, indicating ‘Severe’ pollution, as per the report. Other locations such as Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, and Punjabi Bagh also reported dangerously high levels of air pollution, underscoring the environmental consequences of large-scale festive celebrations. The spike in fire incidents across Telangana and Delhi, coupled with deteriorating air quality, has prompted authorities to urge residents to remain vigilant, minimize firecracker use, and follow safety precautions.

The Hare Krishna Movement–India celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its Cultural Centre at Kandi, Sangareddy, with sacred rituals including the Maha Narasimha Homa and Garbhalaya Yantra Sthapana Puja. Attended by spiritual leaders and dignitaries, the event also featured an expo of the temple’s design and facilities. Hyderabad: Celebrating a significant milestone in its construction journey, the Hare Krishna Movement–India’s upcoming project—the Hare Krishna Cultural Centre at Kandi, Sangareddy—witnessed the Maha Narasimha Homa and auspicious Garbhalaya Yantra Sthapana Puja on Saturday. The event was attended by Sriman Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa Prabhuji, President of the Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad & Regional President of the Akshaya Patra Foundation (Telangana & AP), and Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha.
